Customize Your Lace Front Wig
WIG TIP: Customizing your lace frontal In the case of real hair, the density on the top is lower and hair of unequal length always tends to grow around a persons’ hairline which is a sign of natural hair growth. To mimic this, you can customize your lace front wig or hairpiece by plucking and trimming some of the hairs around the hairline.
To begin the customization process, place your wig or hairpiece on a mannequin head and secure it with T-pins. Holding your lace with a tight grip, pluck out excess hairs around the front to make it less bulky. Part the hair on your lace frontal in two sections and start to pluck the hairline towards you in order to get a more natural look. Proceed to section out some more hair. This time pluck some hair off the sections which are less thin than the other parts, creating a natural gradation effect with the hairline. The same process can be used to make the part on your wig or hairpiece more realistic too! After finishing the creation of a natural hairline, recreate some baby hairs. For this step separate a small section of the hair from the hairline that you want to use as baby hairs. Use a razor or small scissors to cut down until the hair is at your desired baby hair length. Voila! You’re done!
